One letter addressed to Mary Storer from George W. Storer dated Fifth Avenue Hotel, New York, October 3, 1860. Describes his sightings of noted politicians staying at his hotel such as President Fillmore, congressmen, and others; visiting with friends; expresses wanting to visit Central Park, and Greenwood Cemetery. Mentions that on his way back from Brooklyn in a omnibus they were stopped by a police officer because there "was about thirty thousand 'Wide Awakes'" that were parading with banners and torches. Also attached as a note expressing his wishes to buy a place in New York.
