Augsberger writes to Ardena that he hopes she is in the "best of health and still as beautiful as ever." He tells Ardena that he received a letter from Mabel, and learned that Chucky got shot in the leg. Augsberger says, "I guess he will probably get a discharge now. If he does, I think I will get shot in the heart and maybe I will get a honorable discharge to." He sends his love and asks Ardena to tell her Mom, Dad, and the children he says hello.
