In the hand of Jonah Sergeant; signed by Clark and Sergeant. re: three prisoners seeking discharge

Notes: Letter included numerous of grammatical errors, such as fragments and incorrect spelling.

The inclosed [sic] potition [sic] from throu [sic] of the [illegible] prisoners were presented to Congress & referred to us. We have visited them in the Hospital & find they have had the Small Pox very favourally: they are almost fit to go Work & very proposing for a Discharge.
We can find no Motho [sic] of determining the cause of their Detention & as the Council of Safety are fitting so nwar [sic] us, we [illegible] to know from you what Report it would be proper to make [illegible] of the Norths in a lad just turned of fifteen, the other about twenty, thori [sic] Parents live on the shore in shrourbury [sic] & we have reason to suspect, who lattor [sic] was outlisted with Col. John Morris I [illegible] lives at Crosswicks on the plantation of John Abbit
