Carte de visite of an unknown Confederate general with beard. Stars around collar of uniform. With pen strokes added to his beard and hair. Pencil note on back (cropped), "This is a very indifferent picture -- a poor trait of the original as the artist in attempting to improve it has spoiled it completely. I send it however as I have no other." Possibly the handwriting of Mary C. Lee.
