Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Cosigned by William Pithen, and Ez Williams. Pay order to Treasurer John Lawrence to pay Robert Sloan six pounds for repairing arms. Charges should be billed to Connecticut. Note on reverse dated 29 May 1775 signed by Robert Sloan certifying that he received 6 pounds.

Seller's note: Anything to do with weapons during the American Revolution is very scarce.
