The first segment of this manuscript contains lists of officers, troops, and provisions kept by Quartermaster William Sawyer for Colonel Jonathan Brewer's Massachusetts militia regiment serving in New York. Following the military section, there are additional entries by Sawyer from 1780 to 1784, apparently after he returned to civilian life in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Some pages are either partially or completely torn out.
