One letter from Edward W. Amsden to his cousin Lill, dated July 1, 1864. Mentions the last few days of fighting stationed far left of Sherman's Army. A recent battle killed and wounded 2,100 rebels. He discusses the food he has been eating and the upcoming Fourth of July. He mentions that he has two months and four days left in the U.S. Army.
