Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Also signed by Robert Fowle. They regret the delay of settling their account and promise to pay when they receive some money they are owed. Request notification when Knox obtains printing paper. For previous discussions of their debt see GLC02437.00064 and GLC02437.00097. Robert Fowle worked as a printer and publisher in Portsmouth and Exeter, New Hampshire until 1777.
