Asks Rochambeau to send him a list of all the French members of the Society of the Cincinnati from the land service. Explains that the list is necessary for maintenance of Society records, and also for filling out diplomas for the members.

I have the honor in [illegible] of secretary genl to the Society of the Cincinnati to request that your Excelly would have the goodness to transmit me as soon as maybe, [struck: an] a precise and authentic list of all the members of the Cincinnati who belongs to the Land service of his most [Christian] Majesty with their titles civil and military annex
The list requested is designed not only to be recorded in the books but is required for the purpose of filling up the diplomas that shall be executed as soon [inserted: as possible] after the receipt of the list -
