My dear friend
I thank you for your punctual information of the receit of the 24 scrip, and have no doubt of your duly honoring my bill even if it should not be discounted agreeably to my promise to Mr. Delapila as it was the best arrangement I could make at the time.
Mr. Smith arrived here last evening and brought with him the money for my note you was so obliging to indorse for 10.000 Dollars, and which was discounted, you may rely upon its punctual discharge at maturity for I would not venture to request such a favor, even if I apprehended my death would prevent a punctual performance.
There has been two vessels as late from London as the 22nd of October last which is <text loss> the date of Mr. Shaw's letter which I now return having writ his friends in Boston and am much surprised I have no letters from him by them, as I left letters for him in London, but I still hope to hear by the November packet as he will previous to her sailing find part of the remittances arrived to the house in whose favor he drew on me from Center as I meant to remit the remainder in January this leaves me in an awkard Situation how to act as

his arrival in London gives him lands ample enough to fulfill all his present engagements.
I wish you the compliments of the Season which please to make acceptable to Mrs. Knox & family.
I am
my dear friend
Your Affectionate
& faithful Servant
Tho. Randall
Honle. General Knox.
