Mentions a previous request he made to Knox for materials to supplement his book on the geography of the United States. Reminds Knox that at the time of the request, Knox responded that he had materials that might be useful, but was extremely busy and unable to help. Informs Knox that the book is now currently in the press. Asks Knox if he might be able to send the materials now, if he is less busy. Specifically requests "A draft of the country [on which] our forts stand, with the names & places of the forts, would be particularly acceptable, & highly gratifying to the public." Hopes that Knox will be able to send the items by the next month since he hopes to be able to send a copy of the map to the engraver. Noted as written in Charlestown, which is now an area of Boston, Massachusetts.
