Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Informs Bayley he is unable to attend the meeting for the Lincoln Academy. Regretfully informs Bayley that due to his current financial problems he is at present unable to secure any subscriptions. Says he is in the process of fixing his financial problems and hopes to be a benefactor of the school's in the near future. Date was taken from the docket.
