Copies a request, sent by telegraph from Lewis Baldwin Parsons, Colonel and Chief Quartermaster. Parsons asks that the "Colypse," possibly a boat, is ordered forward after arriving at Fort Leavenworth to call upon Major Chew at "St. Joe" (possibly St. Joseph, Missouri), and to sail up the Missouri River to secure freight for General Scully's expedition (possibly Lieutenant Colonel James W. Scully). Parsons also mentions the "Kate Kearney." Curtis instructs Heath to give special attention to his duties as Provost Marshal General in districts under Curtis's command, noting: "You will especially see to the prisoners at Nebraska City and Omaha who have asked for my intervention as having been illegally tried by a Military Commission for civil offences. You will discharge or order them to their headquarters at your discretion." Written on Headquarters, Department of Kansas stationery.
