Describes in detail a fire that injured three of their friends. Notes that the newspaper exaggerated the story, "tho' dreadful as it is." Written from Lombard Street in London.
Isabella Dundas, daughter of William Robertson of Richmond, married David Dundas, a doctor who was appointed Sargent Surgeon to King George III in 1791, in 1774.
James Dundas was a lawyer in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Isabella's brother-in-law.
