At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Augustus had planned on visiting Atlanta, but decided against it. He inquires as to Miller's wellbeing,and warns him to be careful. He says that Miller in a "place of great danger," and urges him to watch what he says around other people. Again, he tells Miller to be humble.
