Supply estimate for May 6-10, 1864 for 2150 men. Autograph note signed on verso from William E. Jones, dated 4 May 1864; outlines instructions for the Glade Spring commissary. A second autograph note signed from A.R. Kinnison, in Glade Spring, Virginia, dated 4 May 1864, corrects the estimate.
A farmer from Abingdon, Virginia, Hopkins enlisted in 1861 as a corporal, then was later commissioned into Field and Staff of the Virginia 25th Cavalry, where he was later listed on William E. Jones's staff.
