Bell writes to Joe from home. Says the weather is very rainy and slowing down their planting. Reports her aid society meets tomorrow. Anticipates they will disband soon "...as the Confederacy is played out and the war is over."
Joseph Maitland enlisted on 8 August 1862 as a Private. He was mustered into "G" Co. OH 95th Infantry. He was mustered out 31 May 1865 at Memphis, Tennessee.
