Written at Granby, with no state listed. She apologizes for not having written in so long. Writes that she has received his photograph. Tells him that he no longer looks like a boy but like a man. She is surprised at how many years have passed. Writes that both she and his sister Cordelia had their photographs taken but have yet to receive them. States that it has taken so long because the photographer and their cousin Beekman suggested that the photographs could be "larger" and more "life-like" if done separately. She is glad to hear that he is doing well. She wishes that the war was over so the poor soldiers could go home. She wonders what he does with all of the books he receives. Writes about the larger number of letters he has written and thinks that he must have many friends. Writes of the many letters that have been written between family members and friends. Informs him of the death of their uncle Almarin [?]. Later that day she writes that Cordelia has brought over the pictures.
Franklin W. Fuller from Howard, Illinois enlisted on 14 August 1862 as a Sergeant. He mustered into the I Company of the Illinois 74th Infantry on 4 September 1862. He was mustered out on 10 June 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee.
