Pencil inscription, "James F. Rusling. Nash[ville]" on front. The image shows a cluster of sheds situated between two larger buildings, along the banks of a river. Outside the buildings are large piles of lumber and planks. The nearer building between these piles appears to be the mill itself, and individual strips of wood are scattered around it. Beside the shed appears to be a pile of limbers. Mountains are visible on the far side of the river. A label on the reverse notes that the image is from the Robert Schoelkopf Gallery. The label also identifies George N. Barnard as the photographer.
