Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Larrabee's company belonged to Colonel Reuben Fogg's regiment of militia. Includes a list of soldiers and the amount of their wages. Includes soldiers' signatures (or marks) on verso. Possibly created in early 1777, as this is a record of pay for 1776. Categories listed include: men's names, rank, time of march, time of disrcharge, time of services, place of abode, wager dowe, and total wage.
