Wolcott attests to a statement he made in a letter to Jacob Bogardus: "The aspersion mentioned in Mr. Bogardus letter was that I wrote to him that the conduct of [Mr. Shneill] in selling his negro I considered a wanton act of Barbarity. OW." Written on a blank leaf, with address leaf on verso, to Andrew Adams, docketed "Genl. Wolcott's letter inclosing a letter from Jacob Bogardus & Dep. Oct. 1779."
