Relates examination of a corpse believed to be one of his brothers, either Watson or Oliver, both of whom died at Harpers Ferry.

Both Watson and Oliver remains are now buried at the John Brown Farm Cemetery in North Elba, New York. Although Watson’s body had been used for anatomical study at a medical school in Virginia, John Jr. thought he could recognize the placement of the wound suffered at Harpers Ferry. Watson was interred in North Elba in 1882. Wealthy Brown was John Brown Jr.'s wife. Her maiden name was Hotchkiss.
