A scientific and experimental notebook of Alexander Catlin Twining. Twining's notebook contained notes, tables, graphs, diagrams, of observations he made and experiments he conducted. Experimental topics include, evaporation, condensation, velocity, friction, resistance, freezing temperature, and gravity. The dates assigned are approximate because Twining's entries are not in sequential order. In numbering his pages, a single sheet front and back constitutes one page. In accordance with this, the page numbers written in the notebook go from 0 to 78. Pages 63 to 73 are written upsidedown. Attached towards the front of the notebook is a stack of three slips of paper containing the contact infromation for several individuals. Glued to the back of page 76 is a newspaper clipping for oil paint substitutes. Glued to the front of page 77 is a small printed card for Mrs. Shelley's Ointment. Dated from 1827-1884.
