Capelle writes on behalf of Miss Flora in response to a postcard from Anderson. She reminisces about the fun the girls had at the soldier's mass and wonders where all the good soldiers have gone. Hopes that they will visit the house again before returning home to America.

Captain Kenneth S. Anderson was in Company H, 309th Infantry, USA and went on to become a colonel in the 324th Infantry during World War II.

Mister the Captain

Forgive me the frankness that has given me the liberty to write to you. Miss Flora makes me a part of your card and puts me in charge of asking you what has become of the good soldiers; and especially the Lieutenants that were so good among us. I remember always the so good days that you passed at Journy; and the pleasures that we took at the Mass of the officers. It was unfortunately too short and your departure to the trenches cost us much grief.
[2] It is thus at this subject Mr the Captain that I ask you for news. because we have learned that the poor Americans have much suffered from this war.
Having the happiness to see these Lieutenants at Journy before their return to America, this would give us great pleasure.
It would thus be [grace] for us that you would make us familiar with the name of those that were with you at the house.
The end is finally near now, I have confidence that you will have a good return.
I end with hope of receiving your updates.
Would you accept Mr Anderson my best Wishes and Souvenirs
One of your french friends,
Rosalie Capelle
