On War.

How furious is the Battles rage
When Foes with fire and sword engage
The dreadfull Mars stalks o'er the Field
With angry brow and bloody Shield
Fierce as a [hound] in the Wood
He marks his fatal way with blood
What plea can havock pray afford
For drawing of the vengefull Sword
Justice an injured Nation cries
The force of arms will authorize
This urg'd & restitution made
Then peace shall sheath the glitt'ring blade.

On Peace.
to his Royal Highness George Pr. of Wales.

While gentle peace alike invites
all to share in her delights
With gratitude we must prepare
A tribute for Britannia's heir
Our future hope our present Joy
Our Minds our Wishes must employ
[So] may our princes belifs encrease
And pleasure wait on smiling peace
So shall Content each moment crown
And flowing plenty be our own
Joy of each bosom peace imparts
Delights all eyes and charms all hearts
