Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Moe writes of how the separation has only made their relationship stronger. They are now in each other's thoughts more than ever. He jokes that the censor will have a hard time with his letters. He wants to know more about Sylvia's selective service board work, and tells her to not over exert herself.
