At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

A two-sided map of the coastline of France. One side of the map shows the Port en Bessin to Cherbourg and the reverse side shows Entretat to Port Bessin. This map has three hole punches and is labled page 185 and 186, but the rest of the book or manual is not included in the collection.
