Rod is writing while waiting for a resupply chopper. He says New Years and Christmas were well and asks his parents to thanks Sherman for sending a tape. He hopes everyone is feeling well at home and has recovered from the mumps. He is hoping to visit Rena in Hawaii in February but nothing is concrete. He says he is trying to write more, but it is difficult.
