One color comic entitled "Your Vote is Vital," published by Harvey Publications and illustrated by Al Avison dated 1952. This comic outlines how to vote, register, pick a candidate and offers a voters quiz on the back cover. Throughout the comic "Uncle Sam" explains to a citizen why and how to vote; explaining how every vote counts and shows how different the numbers would have been in the "Lazy Voters" had voted in the 1948 election. Once he has convinced the citizen to vote he explains that for the vote to really matter you should research the candidates and make an informed decision. While the original citizen goes to research Uncle Sam talks to a woman who wants to vote but did not register in time. Uncle Sam explains why you have to be registered and advises looking at local laws, as some states have an educational requirement. Once the original citizen comes back to vote he complains to Uncle Sam that there is a position where he doesn't like any of the candidates, Uncle Sam then explains the primary system. After this Uncle Sam explains two systems of voting used at this polling station, which is printed ballot or voting machine. After voting Uncle Sam congratulates the citizen. On the back of the comic is a quiz with questions pertaining to the 1952 election. These questions include; "Can you name two senators from your state? Can you name the representative from your district? How do your congressmen stand on price control? How do your congressmen stand on aid to Europe? Aid to Asia? Do you know the major issues in the next election?" He advises that "If you can't answer these questions correctly-Brush up on our facts... Your Vote Is Vital!"
