One book titled Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American slave. Written by himself by Frederick Douglass dated 1846. This is the third English edition, and contains a frontispiece print of Douglass. It was printed by Joseph Barker. Includes a preface to the second Dublin edition, preface to the first American edition, and a letter from Wendell Phillips (April 22, 1845).
The narrative is followed by an appendix and "American Slavery," a "Report of a public meeting held at Finsbury Chapel, Moorfields, to receive Frederick Douglass" (May 22, 1846). The last pages contain information on the American Anti-Slavery Society for the "Friends of the Slave."
The book is a memoir and treatise on abolition written by African-American orator and former slave Frederick Douglass during his time in Lynn, Massachusetts. It comprises eleven chapters that recount Douglass's life as a slave and his quest for freedom.
