Brigadier General Logan writes to Yates, Governor of Illinois (1861-1865). Reports that Captain McCook wishes to see Yates regarding the appointment of Lieutenant Colonel of the 31st Regiment. Has no objection "to the appointment of Capt. McCook or any other good man." Notes that the offices of Lieutenant Colonel and Major should be filled at once. Written on paper containing the printed image of General Don Carlos Buell as letterhead (in blue ink).
