Abraham Cuyler states that the bearer of the letter, John Myer, was brought before him as a wandering vagrant who claimed that he used to live on Livingston Manor. Cuyler therefore explains that he has sent Myer back to live on the Manor, and asks Robert, Jr. to provide some means for Myer's maintenance.
