Writes to his uncle about Baltimore at the beginning of the Civil War. States that all is still quiet. Mentions some people who have evacuated but he feels these fears are groundless. Reports, "7 out of the 10 Delegates to the Assembly from Balt declared themselves to the Sheriff, who gave them their certificates, in fav[or] of passable measures & against Secession in any shape."
