Five of the men are seated and the other four stand behind them. The man in the center of the seated men strikes a Napoleonic pose. Inscription on verso: "Top Row 1. Chapman 2. B. Wells 3. Chandler 4. Dr. Beggs Bottom Row 1.Dutton 2. H.F. Valette 3. Col. Dustin 4. Potter 5. Dr. Waterman." Additional inscription, part of which is cut off: "Staff Officers 105th Vols. [illegible] D. Dustin Col, H. F. Valette, F. Dutton Major, S Potter Surgeon, Chapman Chaplain, Wells [illegible], D Chandler Adjt, W Beggs 2nd asst Surgeon, Wterman 1st asst Surg."
