Assures his wife that he is eating well and feeling healthy, but complains about a lack of proper clothing, especially proper winter clothing. Mentions that he is still praying regularly, and offers to send his wife some money, despite needing at least fifteen dollars for a new pair of boots from Knoxville. Also includes a balance sheet including the price of various goods in Knoxville, including coffee, lard, ink, and more.
