A committee transmits an inscribed silver pitcher, waiter, and goblets to Thomas Holliday Hicks at the end of his term as Maryland Governor. According to the committee's statement, the inscription reads: "To his excellency, Thomas Hollyday Hicks, Governor of the State of Maryland. From the Union men of Kent, for his unswerving devotion to the Constitution, and the Union."
