Replies to an undated letter from Waterman written on the same page. In the earlier letter Waterman informs Trumbull that Captain Lyon has refused to deliver some hides stating that a man offered him $40 to ship them to Norwich as soon as possible. Asks Waterman what he should do as he has an opportunity to sell them. Trumbull replies on the bottom half of the page advising Waterman to demand the hides from Lyon in his name, and to apply to the authority of General David Wooster for aid if necessary.

Trumbull was the commissary general of the Continental Army. Waterman was the deputy commissary.
