Colonel Swift informs Knox that his 2nd Connecticut Brigade "are destitute of a conductor of military stores and are much imbarrased [sic] for want of one..." Suggests Sergeant Amos Kellogg for the position. Docketed by Samuel Shaw, Knox's aide. Written at Philipsburgh, New York (near present-day Tarrytown).
