Discusses the recent election for senator, in which George Cabot won the seat against Tristram Dalton. Writes that he wished Dalton had won, but "The House were determined to make a change and used every art to effect it... I wish'd for Mr. D to be continued but as that could not be effected I am glad that Mr Cabot has succeeded in preference to the other candidates." Writes that Dalton's support of high salaries for the senators made him unpopular in the House. Discusses the votes in detail. "Free" stamped on address leaf with no signature.
