References Knox's letters of 13 and 16 March. Is glad Knox has finally settled with Madame de le Val, but says he does not understand the terms. Encloses a letter for William Bingham that he wants Knox to deliver (not included). Says the committee wants payment on the $5,200 note when it is due on 29 April. Reports they also want the $30,000 due on 18 April from "the last Contract." Wants instructions on how to proceed. Does not want to be left "in a state of suspence." Says that Knox should read what he told Bingham about the committee's opinion on "the Forfeiting the Deeds in Escrow." Says the committee will take every advantage it can on this point. Hopes to see Knox in Boston in early June.
