Written from "Cape Briton," possibly Cape Breton, in Nova Scotia, Canada. Declares that several years ago, he contacted Knox to find out about the fate of a boy left under Knox's care by the late Mr. Alexander McGillivray. As he did not hear back from Knox, he writes again to ask about the boy's fate, how much schooling he undertook, or if perhaps he had not survived.
