At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. Summary of Content: Colonel Nicola indicates that one of his men, who left on furlough in 1782, has not returned, and was mustered as a deserter. Notes that the deserter's absence leaves an opening for another man to go on furlough, and recommends Bond.
