At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. Summary of Content: Created by Captain Lieutenant Hall of the 3rd Regiment of Artillery. Contains Hall's signature, possibly copied (document is in the hand of Samuel Shaw). Hall divides his assessment into 8 inch and 5 1/2 inch shells. Docketed 27 July 1782.
