Summary of Content: Countersigned by John Cotton as deputy secretary of the province. Thomas Hutchinson's signature is noted as being a copy. Partially printed document with additional information written in by hand. Appoints Henry Knox to be Lieutenant of the Grenadier Company in Boston, Massachusetts. Verso includes an attestation that Knox took the required oaths. A portion of the document has been clipped causing text loss.
