Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

P.2 contains a signed statement by Gilbert Adams in which he agrees to pay the outstanding sum to Benajuh Loomis. This is followed by a signed statement by Benajuh Loomis, 5 May 1744, in which he acknowledges receipt of the sum from Gilbert Adams. Docketed on verso.
