Reports to his sister, "your photograph came through safe and I am very much pleased with yours. But I know that if Lizzie is ugly she is not as ugly as that picture makes her out to be." Informs her that he was taken out of the Commissary department and made "Ward Master." Notes that he does not want the position, but remarks that he may like the job once he begins. Written on stationery with "US Army General Hospital, Newton University, Baltimore" letterhead.
