Tells his wife that he is continually thinking of her, and that the thought of being with her again gives him courage. A young man whom his wife had written about in one of her letters was killed from a shot to the head in the 1st Michigan Infantry. Says that he has received a lot of papers from Wink, his sister. He is very glad that he did not bring her with him to the front.
