Three quarter length standing portrait of Surgeon General Moore in dress uniform. With rubber stamp on verso, "C.M. Bell. 463 & 465 Penna. Ave. Washington, D.C." Moore wears his dress uniform complete with epaulets, belt buckle, sash, dress belt, and sword. See GLC04916.06 for Moore's epaulets and belt buckle. Moore had been an important army physician during the Civil War and was made Surgeon General in 1886. He served in that role until his retirement in 1890.
