Includes several detached pieces which appear to be original backing. A note written in blue ink on one piece of backing states that this photograph depicts Edward, Rusle, Charry, Silas T., Lucy, Mack J., Jude, Anna Gould (oldest child), Charles (second child), and parents D. M. and Marry (or Polly) Tucker Leaming. The note indicates that this photograph was taken at a family reunion on the Leaming farm near La Porte. Possibly originally taken by photographer William M. Scott and reprinted in the 1920s. A separate cardboard backing contains the printed image of a building located at Euclid Avenue and 97th of an unspecified city.

Mack J. Leaming served as 1st Lieutenant, Adjutant of the 13th Tennessee Cavalry at Fort Pillow, Tennessee, and was present at the controversial battle which took place there in April 1864.
