Summary of Content: Possibly contained within the 1863 diary of Calvin Symmes Mixter (refer to GLC06583.02), a Civil War soldier. No publication date is listed. A printed message at the bottom of the page indicates this song was sold at Horace Partridge, an importer and wholesale dealer located in Boston. Each verse describes missing loved ones and the patriotic duty of serving in the war. Possibly printed as a broadside.
